TRS president KCR, JAC chairman Kodandaram, and a host of leaders to attend programme JAC demands that Ekasila Park in Warangal be named as ‘Jayashankar Smritivanam' WARANGAL: The district unit of the Political JAC has proposed to organise a public meeting titled ‘Spoorthi Sabha' here on July 2 to commemorate the 12th day of the passing away of late Prof. Jayashankar. JAC chairman T. Papi Reddy, TRS MLA D. Vinay Bhaskar, Telangana Graduates Association (TGA) president M. Yadava Reddy, and others released a poster and pamphlets on the life and works of Prof. Jayashankar. New phase They also appealed to the people of all Telangana districts to take part in the commemoration meeting in large numbers. “This is a very special meeting for the JAC. From here, we will begin another phase of our Telangana movement,” said Prof. Papi Reddy. According to JAC leaders, TRS president K. Chandraksekar Rao, JAC State unit chairman Prof. Kodandaram, NGOs leader Mr. Swami Goud, and a host of leaders from Hyderabad and other districts would take part in the meeting. There would be a large gathering at Ekasila Park and a rally will be taken out to Nandana Gardens – where the public meeting will take place. The JAC has also demanded that Ekasila Park be named as ‘Jayashankar Smritivanam' and a plot be allotted to install a statue of Prof. Jayashankar there. Central forces MLA Mr. Vinay Bhaskar accused the State government of trying to suppress the separate Telangana movement by sending in more Central forces to all the districts in the regions. “The Congress leaders are responsible for the arrival of Central forces. They have to provide an explanation to the people. No force can stop the ongoing separate Telangana movement as the people are ready to make any sacrifice and already hundreds of youth have sacrificed their lives for the cause,” he pointed out. He said that three companies of Central forces were sent to Warangal district and officials were trying to procure more companies to control and kill the movement. More repressive tactics would only harm the Congress leaders but not the Telangana people – who were ready to face any adversity to secure separate Statehood to the region – Mr Vinay Bhaskar added.
