Hassan: Members of the Hassan unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest here on Wednesday against the rising prices of essential commodities, and corruption. The protest was staged in front of the Hemavathi statue in the city. Secretary of the party unit Dharmesh blamed the “anti-people” policies of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government for increasing prices of essential commodities, which, he said, had forced the poor to suffer further. Corruption He alleged that Ministers in both the UPA Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party Government in the State were involved in rampant corruption.
