Bijapur
It was given away in three categories BIJAPUR: District-level officials should make efforts to maintain cleanliness, provide facilities in villages and make them models for other districts, zilla panchayat president Shankrubai Chalawadi has said. Speaking after presenting the Rajatha Nairmalya and Nairmalya awards at the zilla panchayat auditorium here on Wednesday, she lamented that even after 16 years of implementing the Nirmala Grama Yojana , the benefits of the scheme were not reaching the targeted groups owing to the lackadaisical attitude of the officers concerned and lack of awareness among people. Advice Ms. Chalawadi advised the officers to visit villages at regular intervals and convince the residents to avail themselves of benefits of various government schemes. The Nairmalya award is presented in three categories: best village, best school and best anganwadi. In Bijapur taluk, the award was presented to Kanmadi village, lower primary school at Huvinhari Shivanagi, and Ittangihal anganwadi.
