KOLKATA: Pune FC retained last year's top scorer Mandjou Keita and attacking midfielder Arata Izumi for the next season.
Thirty-one-year-old striker Keita, adjudged ‘Pune FC Player of the Year', signed a one-year contract until 2013, while the 28-year-old Japanese Arata will be with the club for another two seasons.
In his first year with the club, Keita scored 13 of the 32 goals Pune FC scored in the I-League, thus helping the team to finish fifth.
Pune FC Head of Operations, Chirag Tanna, said, “Keita and Arata's signings will help keep together the experienced players which is important to get going early in the season.” – Special Correspondent
