Kothari and Sitwala lose
KOLKATA: India's Dhruv Sitwala and Sourav Kothari fell in the semifinals of the Australian Open billiards championship (150 up) which concluded at Adelaide on Wednesday.
Sitwala fell to eventual winner Peter Gilchrist of Singapore 0-5 while Kothari lost to Steve Mifsud of Victoria 3-5.
Earlier, the Indian cueists had topped their respective groups and also won their quarterfinals. Sitwala outplayed Robby Foldvari of Victoria 4-0 while Kothari, down 0-2, staged a remarkable recovery to get past Joe Minici of New South Wales 4-2.
Gilchrist won the title, defeating Mifsud 6-1. — Special Correspondent
