Vikram to meet Madan

Coimbatore: Adarsh Vikram of Stanes AIHSS beat K. Sriram of AKYBC 21-16, 21-16 and entered the under-19 boys' singles final in the United India Insurance district-ranking badminton tournament at the Jenney Club courts here on Wednesday.

Adarsh will now take on Rakesh D. Madan of AKYBC, who defeated club-mate J. Naveen 14-21, 23-21, 21-12.

Other results (Semifinals): Boys: U-17: J. Naveen (AKYBC) bt K. Sriram (AKYBC) 12-21, 21-19, 21-14.

Girls: U-10: Shruthi (GD) bt Udhitha (YB) 21-17, 21-18; Lakshmi Malavika (SP) bt S. Samyuktha (AF) 17-21, 21-19, 21-18.

Doubles: Boys: U-19: Sriram & Naveen (AKYBC) bt Varun & Vignesh (AKYBC) 21-16, 21-15; Adarsh Vikram & Rakesh D. Madan bt Sankesh & Harikrishnan (AKYBC) 21-13, 21-11 .

CDCA U-22 selections

The Coimbatore District Cricket Association (CDCA) will hold selection trials for its under-22 team at the Sri Ramakrishna Cricket Trust nets at the SNR Sons College on June 30 from 8 a.m.

Chess tournament

The Indian Chess Academy will conduct a one-day tournament for various age groups at the Devar Thirumana Mandapam near Olympus (Ramanathapuram) on July 3 from 9 a.m.
