Inter-Districts meet from July 2

Madurai: TNCA–inter-Districts tournament 2011-2012 season for the under-22 and under-16 teams will be held from July 2 and July 8 respectively with thirtyone district teams playing in eight Zones around 15 venues across the State.

The 50 overs a side matches will be divided into three stages and the winners entering the finals will play a three-day game.

The venues are Madurai, Dindigul, Tirunelveli, Theni, and Ramanathapuram

Sivaganga wins

overall title

Sivaganga won the overall championship, with 76 points, in the SDAT-State Games State-level athletics meet, which concluded at the Nehru Stadium, here on Wednesday. Sivaganga (58) also clinched the men's team championship. Tiruvannamalai and Erode (47) were adjudged joint champions in the women's section.

G. Vinod and N. Vidya have been given the pride of place in the men's and women's sections respectively in the PSNA CET fourth State-ranking table tennis tournament, organised by the Dindigul District TTA, at the PSNA Indoor Stadium, from June 30 to July 1.

Babu hits ton

A sparkling 120 by Babu enabled NHK Cricket Club to defeat Blue Star CC by 209 runs in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association-Vellore District Cricket Association league matches held in Vellore recently.

The scores: I division: NHK CC 245 in 44.2 overs (M. Bilwa Prasad 82, D. Mani 32, Y. Sunil Nandhan three for 21, Abdul Aneez three for 61) bt United CC 150 for nine in 50 overs (M. Sanjeev 51, A. Ajay 38, M. Bilwa Prasad three for 30, Naresh Babu three for 16).

NHK CC 244 for six in 40 overs (Babu 120, T. Jagathguru Prasad 68, M. Bilwa Prasad 37 not out) bt Blue Star CC 35 for five in 14 overs.
