KOTTAYAM: Mahatma Gandhi University has announced the schedules for spot allotments to the reserved seats and correction allotment to general seats of its undergraduate courses. According to the university, the spot allotments for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe community reservation seats would be conducted on July 1 and 2. The allotment process will take place at the following centres for filling the seats at colleges in the respective districts. The centres On July 1 – at the Information Centre at the Maharaja's College (for Ernakulam) and at the Information Centre at Kattappana (for Idukki). On July 2 – at the information Centre at Thiruvalla (for Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha), and at the Centralised Allotment Section in the University Campus (for Kottayam). Candidates belonging to the SC/ST communities are required to report and submit applications at the respective centres along with the documents proving caste, community and educational qualifications before 12 p.m. on that day. The allotments will be completed on the same day. The allotted students are expected to join their classes on July 4. The University authorities also informed that the correction allotment for the remaining unfilled general seats will commence on July 5. Those who have submitted applications need not remit any fee for the round of allotment. However, candidates submitting fresh applications will have to remit the prescribed fee. The details of colleges and programmes in which seats remain unfilled will the soon be published on the University website www.mgu.ac.in. A total of 13,624 students availed allotments to nearly 96 undergraduate programmes in various affiliated colleges.
