Chirag takes over Viva Kerala
KOLKATA: I-League side Viva Kerala has signed an agreement with Kolkata-based Chirag Computers to sell a 60 per cent stake for an undisclosed amount. The agreement was signed at Mumbai on Tuesday. The club will be known as Chirag Kerala henceforth.
Viva Kerala was sponsored by Kunnath Pharmaceuticals through its brand Musli Power last season.
The RP Group which owns Chirag had been supporting the United Sports Club since 2006 under the name of Chirag United SC. The team qualified through the second division to the top tier. But a dispute with the management of United SC over the control of the club ended the relationship and the matter is in court. — Special Correspondent
