TDP wants State to stop Babli
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam (TDP) on Wednesday wanted the State government to take steps to prevent Maharashtra from going ahead with Babli and other irrigation projects upstream of Sriramsagar project. Addressing a press conference, TDP leaders E. Dayakar Rao and G. Kamalakar alleged that the government has failed to protect the interests of the State, especially Telangana region as these projects would impact irrigation and drinking water supply. At least now when the Maharashtra government was planning to inaugurate the Babli project, the Andhra Pradesh should urgently convene an all party meeting and send a delegation to the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.
