BELLARY: Suryanarayan, head constable attached to the Toranagal police station, has been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty for not serving a warrant issued by the Sandur court to G. Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Tourism. Seven occasions According to the police, the head constable failed to serve the warrant to the Minister on seven occasions in connection with a case filed by Tapal Narayan Reddy, accusing the Obulapuram Mining Company, owned by the Minister and having a mining lease in Malpanagudi of Anantapur district on the other side of the inter-State border, of encroaching upon his mining area in Tumti village and threatening his staff. Case filed The case was filed at the Toranagal police station in 2006. The Sandur JMFC reissued warrants nine times when Mr. Reddy did not attend court.
