Providing assistance:Deputy Commissioner Vipul Bansal speaking at the inauguration of the legal aid clinic in Chitradurga on Wednesday. CHITRADURGA: “Knowledge in any field, particularly legal knowledge, empowers people to seek their rights,” Deputy Commissioner Vipul Bansal said here on Wednesday. Speaking at the inauguration of the legal aid clinic at the tahsildar's office, he said that legal aid clinics would provide legal knowledge and assistance to people. He urged the people to make good use of the clinic. In his address, Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinivas Harishkumar said that the Legal Services Authority had decided to open the clinic to help people find legal solutions to civil disputes of various kinds. “Many cases concerning litigation over land and other civil disputes come to the tahsildar's office every day. In many cases, people do not know that there is a legal solution to their problems. Therefore, with the legal aid clinic here, people can go to it forredressal of their cases,” he said. Mr. Harishkumar said that if problems were solved without going to court, the number of cases in courts would reduce, reducing the pressure on them. He said that the district court has appointed two advocates who would visit the clinic every day. Assistant Commissioner N.M. Nagaraj, tahsildar Kumaraswamy, and president of the Chitradurga Bar Association B.K. Rehmatullah were present.
