ADILABAD: Pro-Telangana activists including cadres of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) at Chennur mandal and constituency head quarters on Wednesday tried to disrupt a meeting of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers. They damaged furniture at the venue of the meeting and stoned vehicles of TDP leaders while they were arriving for the meeting. TDP district vice president Ghanshyamdas Mundada was injured when he was beaten up by sticks. He was overseeing arrangements for the meeting when about 40 slogan-shouting Telangana activists entered the meeting hall at Marwadi dharmashala, damaged chairs and attacked him. The agitators later tried to obstruct TDP leaders including MP Ramesh Rathod, Boath MLA G. Nagesh and district president of the party Gone Hanmanth Rao. They stoned their vehicles, hurled footwear and eggs that resulted in damage of glass panes on vehicles of Mr. Hanmanth Rao and ZP Co-option member Fayyaz. Police took the protesting persons into custody while the meeting was conducted as scheduled. The TDP president accused former Minister Boda Janardhan, recently suspended from party, of engineering the disturbance. He condemned the attack unequivocally.
