Jaipur: The University of Rajasthan on Wednesday suspended two assistant professors for allegedly trying to sexually harass a girl student and constituted a two-member committee to probe the matter. The victim, a research scholar, had lodged an FIR late on Monday against the two teachers in the Physics Department under whom she was doing her Ph.D. In her complaint, she alleged that her guide R. K. Singhal and co-guide S. N. Dolia had tried to harass her sexually in February. Police have already arrested Dr. Singhal and are questioning Dr. Dolia to ascertain his role in the alleged incident. “The university-appointed women's committee to probe sexual misconduct at workplace will also carry out its investigation,” said a university official. - PTI
