Thirumavalavan visits injured Dalit panchayat president

TIRUNELVELI: Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol. Thirumavalavan on Wednesday visited the Thaazhaiyooththu panchayat president, A. Krishnaveni, who is recuperating at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital after suffering a brutal attack recently.

Attacked

As Ms. Krishnaveni was reportedly stubborn on constructing a public toilet on a piece of land meant for public utility, a group of persons unleashed attack on her on June 13.

With cut injuries on neck, head, hands and other parts of the body, she was admitted to the hospital.

Speaking to the reporters after visiting the injured Dalit panchayat president, Mr. Thirumavalavan urged the State government to bear the entire medical expenditure involved in treating Ms. Krishnaveni and book the culprits involved in the attack under stringent provisions of law.
