TIRUPATI: Syndicate Bank is keen on taking the number of branches from 10 to 20 in Chittoor district, that too in just three months.
The bank opened a branch in Padmavathipuram in Tirupati on Wednesday, which was incidentally the fifth for the city, tenth in the district and the hundredth in the region (State). B. Raveendra Babu, Fifth Additional District and Sessions Judge, formally inaugurated the branch premises, while Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Vice-Chairman Ch. Penchal Reddy declared the locker room open. Deputy General Manager M. Mohan Reddy said that the new branch would right away be brought under the CBS network to make available facilities like RTGS and NEFT.
Speaking to the media, he announced that the bank would add ten more branches in Chittoor district in the next three months, in places like Satyavedu, Nagari, Palamaner, Puttur, Chittoor, Punganur, etc., thus doubling its presence.
Admitting that Chittoor had remained under-represented so far in the Nellore zone comprising Chittoor, Nellore and Prakasam districts, Mr. Reddy said stress would be laid on increasing visibility and reaching out to customers in the forthcoming days. Five ATMs, including offsite ones, would be opened at the earliest.
The bank's major customers like K.V. Ranganathan of Bhimas group, K.G. Narasimhen of Sri Balaji group and K.Srinivasan of Navajeevan Eye Hospital participated in the inaugural.
