Nannaya University to offer ‘individualised education'

RAJAHMUNDRY: With 14 different types of courses, Adikavi Nannaya University is going to offer a new mode of education which is termed as ‘Individualised Education', which caters to the needs of the industry, government, public and private sectors, and also to each student of his or her choice.

This theory was explained in detail by the in charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. Allam Apparao during an interactive session with media persons on Wednesday after the meeting of national experts on geo-informatics and petroleum explorations here.

Prof. Y. Srinivasa Rao, Head, Department of Geo-Informatics and Petroleum Exploration, AKNU, Prof. K.V. Subba Rao, University of Hyderabad, Prof. K.V. Rao, JNTU, Kakinada, Prof. Chandu Subba Rao, Geophysics (Retired), Andhra University, Prof. Narayana Swamy, also from geophysics and Prof. Rajasekhara Reddy of geology, Andhra University, participated in the meeting. Ramana Gogula, of Solar Energy Systems, and also a music director in the Telugu film industry, participated as a special invitee. He is going to install a power unit at the new premises of AKNU at Velugubanda.

Explaining his view point on 14 courses which the AKNU was offering, the Vice-Chancellor said that they were going to make changes in the curriculum of geo-informatics from the next year, taking support of experts from ONGC, Reliance, GAIL and others. He said that the course was going to be need-based. Prof. Apparao said that disaster management was another subject which was under consideration.
