CIC to probe two appeals
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Jannath Hussain, while deciding on an appeal, noticed that the Public Information Officer/Deputy Inspector-General, Registration & Stamps, Kurnool in a letter to the applicant stated that ‘you are indulging in unnecessary correspondence and wasting precious time.'
Mr. Jannath Hussain observed that the Public Information Officer/Chief General manager APGENCO here had written to an applicant saying, ‘in filing the said application would amount to gross abuse of the right to Information Act, 2005 and also tantamount to wilful interference with the administration of justice.'
Takes serious note
A press release stated that the Chief Information Commissioner had taken serious note of the two instances referred to and that he was satisfied that there were reasonable grounds to inquire into the matters.
He said he would initiate inquiry into them.
