NAGAPATTINAM: Access to and availability of potable water has been accorded priority by the government, and measures should be taken to ensure this, said Collector T. Munusamy, presiding over the District Planning Committee review meeting here at the Collectorate on Wednesday. Farmers were urged to take up early cultivation and transplantation with the release of Mettur water much in advance. S. Namagiri, Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency and MLAs of Poompuhar and Vedaranyam were present.
