Udupi: President of the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) K.S. Eshwarappa said on Wednesday that the State government had no intention of harassing the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. Mr. Eshwarappa's response came in response to a question by presspersons here on Mr. Gowda challenging the State government to recommend for a CBI inquiry into the allegations against him by the BJP. Mr. Eshwarappa said: “Mr. Gowda is a senior politician. We have no intention of launching a witch hunt against him. Let him cooperate with the good work being done by the State government and guide us.” On the expansion of the Cabinet, Mr. Eshwarappa said that independent MLA Varthur Prakash would definitely be included in the Cabinet. However, the timing of the expansion had not yet been decided.
