Devotees' gesture

VIJAYAWADA: Three devotees donated Rs. 3 lakh towards ‘annadanam' scheme of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam here on Wednesday.

The temple officials said that K. Bhagawan Narayana of Tadepalli in Guntur district donated Rs. 1 lakh towards anna danam scheme, and gold weighing 40 grams to the presiding deity. Anne Rama Kumar and M Surya Kumari of Vijayawada donated Rs. 1 lakh each for anna danam.  

Meanwhile, the temple opened all 21 hundis in the temple premises. The hundi collection stood at Rs.1.08 crore. The temple also received gold weighing 393 grams and silver of 3.475 kg.

This apart, the devotees offered 93 US dollars, 37 Singapore dollars, 42 Rials, and 10 Dirhams, officials said.
