ISKCON ‘rath yatra' in city on July 3

VISAKHAPATNAM: The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Visakhapatnam chapter, will organise Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra in the city on July 3.

Announcing this at a media conference here on Wednesday, president of the chapter Samba Das said that a 35 ft high specially built ratham with collapsible canopy, would be taken out from VUDA Park at 4.30 p.m. with more than a thousand devotees participating in the procession up to Gurajada Kalakshetram in Siripuram via RK Beach and Coastal Battery, covering a distance of four km.

Mataji Nitaisevini, who also spoke, said that the procession would be colourful with horses, camels and cultural troupes being part of it and children would also be dressed in epic characters like Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita.

Prabhu Sundaranandan Das from Russia and M.V. Rajasekhar were also present during the media conference.
