Man arrested for wife's suicide

MANGALORE: Pravinchandra, husband of Chandrika Suvarna, who allegedly committed suicide in her house in Yekkur here on Tuesday, was arrested by the police here on Wednesday, the police said.

Sub-inspector Prakash said that Pravinchandra had been arrested under sections 498A (cruelty by a woman's husband and relatives) and 306 (abetment to suicide).

He added that his family members were being investigated for their involvement.

Ms. Chandrika and Pravinchandra were married three months ago and had moved to Yekkur only three weeks ago, the police said.

She allegedly hanged herself on Tuesday morning, the police said.
