FAPCCI welcomes GHMC decision on plastic bags

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce (FAPCCI) and A.P. Plastics Manufacturers Association (APPMA) has welcomed the GHMC decision to ban plastic carry bags of up to 40 microns.

The members of FAPCCI, in a press release on Wednesday, said that the ban on plastics is in line with the Central Government Act. Former president of FAPCCI, Shekhar Agarwal, and Chairman of APPMA and several other top level officials from FAPCCI, during their meeting with GHMC officials, said that lakhs of employees engaged in the plastic industry would lose employment if a blanket ban on plastic bags is imposed.
