Staff Reporter

DHARMAPURI: A team of officials on Tuesday night recovered 8,375 kg of rice, 677 litres of kerosene and 45 kg of sugar, meant for Public Distribution System, from three locked houses near Kottai Mariamman Temple in Dharmapuri. P. Subramaniam, District Supply Officer, told The Hindu on Wednesday that the officials, led by District Revenue Officer S. Ganesh, on a tip-off rushed to the spot and broke open the three houses.

A moped and a weighing scale were also seized from one of the houses. The seized rice and sugar were handed over to the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation.
