EPFO decides to auction attached properties

VISAKHAPATNAM: The sub-regional office of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) here has decided to sell the properties of various defaulting establishments, which have been attached previously for non-payment of PF dues.

Regional PF Commissioner Ajeet Kumar said that the attached properties would be auctioned by the Recovery Officer of EPFO under Section 8-B (1) (a) of the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. The properties to be auctioned are: A 78.59 sq. yards of vacant land along with building in respect of M/s Vizianagaram Central Consumer Cooperative Stores, Gurajada Apparao Road, Vizianagaram (date of sale: July 25, 2011 at 11 a.m.); a 25-cent of vacant land in respect of M/s Suresh Educational Society, Parvathipuram (date of sale: July 26, 2011 at 11 a.m.) and one acre of vacant land in respect of M/s Manasa Organics, Nellimarla, Vizianagaram district (date of sale: July 27, 2011 at 11a.m.)

He said that the proclamation of immovable property of above defaulting establishments as per the Provisions of the Act through auction notice was already notified in the vernacular newspapers on June 17.

He said that it was proposed to initiate process of attachment of movable and immovable properties against all defaulting establishments/employers covered under the territorial jurisdiction of SRO, Visakhapatnam viz., Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts who have failed to remit the Provident Fund dues in spite of repeated notices.

All the employers covered under the EPF & MP Act, 1952, within the territorial jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts have been advised to remit the PF dues in respect of all their employees in time and submit the monthly/annual statutory returns to avoid invocation of punitive actions available under the said Act.
