HYDERABAD: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has urged the Centre to establish the proposed second centre of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) at Anantapur and assured that the State government would provide all infrastructural facilities. In a letter to Union Minister for Human Resources Development, Kapil Sibal, he said that Andhra Pradesh was a pioneering State in creating the best of the talent pool in the country with more than 2, 80,000 engineering graduate enrolments a year. Pointing out that students from Andhra Pradesh excelled in competitive and entrance examinations, including AIEEE, IIM and Civil Services, he, however, said there were very few public sector institutions of repute where the students of the State could benefit. “ I am sure the presence of this premier institution will facilitate the best talent in Andhra Pradesh in augmenting the research in science for building stronger India”, he said the Government was looking for his support, He requested him to issue necessary directions to the concerned for moving a proposal in this regard and assured the fullest support of the State Government in establishing the prestigious institute.
