Villagers complain to Sonia against Minister Galla Aruna

NEW DELHI: A group of villagers at Lakshmipuram and adjoining areas in Puthalapattu mandal of Chittoor district, urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to take action against AP Minister for Geology and Mining Galla Aruna Kumari and her husband Galla Ramachandra Naidu for allegedly grabbing land from poor agriculturists and abusing ministerial powers.

In a signed memorandum sent to Ms. Gandhi, copies of which were also given to her Political Secretary Ahmed Patel and Congress general secretary in-charge of AP and Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the villagers want action against Chittoor Collector and those in-charge of AP Industrial Investment Corporation for using illegal and unwarranted notifications under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, to grab properties from poor farmers in the name of industrialisation. They sought action against the Minister and her family members under the AP Land Ceiling Act.
