 In The Hindu dated December 17, in these columns in the reference to the deduction for educational expenses of children, the deduction under Sec. 80C(2)(xvii) should read as “tuition fees excluding any donations, development fees, etc. or payment of similar nature”. The word ‘including’ was wrongly substituted for ‘excluding’. Tax Forum is obliged to Mr. R. Venkatasubramanian of Lalgudi for this correction.
