THE 64 DIVINE sports of Lord Siva form the subject matter of this publication written in simple and flowing Tamil. The narrative is in great detail bringing out the concern of the Lord for His devotees.
Apart from the well-known episodes a number of unknown divine sports, which also bring out the devotion of Sivanadiyars and the bountiful grace of the Lord stand featured in this book.
The incidents are drawn from texts like Sthalapuranas and generally revolve round the royalty of Madurai. The focus of all these are Lord Sundareswara and Goddess Meenakshi.
The three aspects of these episodes namely the deity, the pilgrimage centre and the holy water sources, figure in the form of conversation between Siva and Parvati, which was overheard by Lord Subrahmanya.
All the narratives have been presented pictorially too, along with the written word. The bold print and the get up of the book are easy on the eye. A speciality of this publication is a very informative foreword by T.S. Arunachalam.
