SRI VIBUDHESHA TEERTHARU: Pub.by the Vibudheshatheertha Abhivandana Grantha Samiti, Admar Mutt Guest House, Udupi-576101.

Rs. 300.

THIS IS a compilation of articles in Kannada and English on the life, achievements, and views of Sri Vibudhesha Teertha of Udupi Admar Mutt. The book also features his own articles, the interviews given by him, and letters written to him by a wide range of devotees and admirers, among whom are scientists and political leaders. The swamiji’s services to the cause of education by setting up a chain of institutions under the auspices of the Admar Mutt Education Council have been greatly commended by the writers. The fact that the Academic Council of the Poorprajna Institute of Scientific Research (near Bangalore) is adorned by a galaxy of eminent persons is a testimony to the institution and to the man behind it.

To quote Prof. Narasimha, “The swamiji’s attempt at promoting modern science at the highest international level demonstrates his vision of the importance of science for the nation and our society, which is unprecedented among India’s religious leaders.”
