VSNL to consider bonus shares -- Board meeting on June 27
VIDESH Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) will be considering the issue of bonus shares, according to a communication to the BSE by the company.

GDR/ADR-linked ESOP for IT company subsidiaries too
THE Government has expanded the scope of the ADR or GDR-linked employees stock options programme to permit Indian companies in the information technology software and IT services to issue such stock options to the permanent employees of its subsidiary co mpanies.

IT heavyweights carry Sensex up to 4,765
SHARE prices surged as the `momentum stocks' propelled the market into a bull zone. The Sensex today breached the resistance level of 4,750 to end the day at 4,764.67, up 111.45 points over its previous close.

YET another proposal has come up to reopen the century-old Punalur paper mill which has been lying closed for over a decade now.

THE Government has decided to set up a committee to consider applications for issue of essentiality certificate for allocation of coal/coke/LPG for those items for which the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is administratively concern ed, except the cement industry, proposals of which are directly considered by the Standing Linkage Committee in the Department of Coal.

Tata Tea PAT declines marginally to Rs 125 cr

Call rates zoom to close at 30 pc
INTERBANK call money rates zoomed to close at 30 per cent on Friday. According to dealers, the rates skyrocketed following the rejection of all bid for the reverse repos auction (worth Rs. 2,530 crores) by RBI under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF ).

THE south-west monsoon remained sedate over most parts of the country, except in Orissa and eastern Uttar Pradesh, which received heavy rainfall.
