Necon flights to Varanasi

NECON Air Ltd, the only private airline of Nepal to operate in the international sector, has announced the introduction of a direct flight between Varanasi and Kathmandu.

An official release said that from Friday, the flight will operate three times a week -- on every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The departure time from Kathmandu is 3.30 p.m. local time and from Varanasi, 5 p.m. IST.

Necon Air will operate the new generation ATR-42 aircraft between Varanasi and Kathmandu. Currently, it operates five flights every week to Patna.

``With the commencement of this direct flight to Varanasi, there will be an increase in the inflow of Indian and foreign tourists and pilgrims, which will give boost to the tourism industry and overall growth in the national economy of Nepal,'' the relea se said. -- Our Delhi Bureau
