THE Committee of Secretaries (CoS) on Saturday cleared the appointment of global advisors for the sale of Government equity in Air India and Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).

Cut in wheat open sale price likley
IN a bid to liquidate the Food Corporation of India's (FCI) burgeoning foodgrain stocks, the Finance Ministry is considering a reduction in the price of wheat sold to roller flour mills (RFM) under the open market sale scheme (OMSS). The Finance Minister , Mr. Yashwant Sinha, is slated to formally ratify the proposal this week.

Forex reserves up $260 m
THE country's foreign exchange reserves increased by $260 millions to $36.73 billions during the week ended June 30, from $36.47 billions in the previous week, as per the RBI's weekly statistical bulletin.

LAF for meeting 'day-to-day mismatches'
IN an attempt to allay fears that were being expressed by various sections in the money market over the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) scheme that was introduced by the RBI on June 5, the bank's Deputy Governor, Dr. Y.V. Venugopal Reddy, has said th at LAF was going through the protean stages of development.

DSQ eyeing 2 US cos -- In talks for stock-plus-cash deal
DSQ Software Ltd has zeroed in on two companies in the US, each of which is valued between $15 and 20 millions, for acquisition. The board of directors would meet on July 10 to formalise the deal.
