Industrial outlook not all that rosy: RBI -- Shadow on 6.5 pc GDP growth forecast
THE uncertainty over post-monsoon industrial recovery has cast a shadow on the realisation of RBI's earlier projection of six to 6.5 per cent GDP growth rate for the current fiscal.

THE Coimbatore-based Rajshree Sugars has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South India Corporation (Agencies) Ltd (Sical), for taking over the latter's sugar division.

SEBI amends takeover norms for PSU shares
THE Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has amended its takeover regulations to stipulate that no public announcement or competitive bid would be allowed after the Union Government has entered into a share purchase or shareholders' agreement wi th the acquirer who has made a public announcement for acquisition of shares or voting rights or control of a public sector undertaking (PSU).

No good morning, please
BREAKFAST cereals didn't do well in India and so didn't breakfast shows. `Good Morning America!' may be the US's favourite breakfast show on the idiot box, but such shows have not caught the fancy of Indian audiences. Instead, they prefer the traditional bhajans and religious discourses.

LS clears CST Bill
NEW DELHI: A Bill to amend the Central Sales Tax (CST) Act to establish a mechanism for dealing with disputes between States on CST related matters was passed by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
