COMMWORKS Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of networking solutions provider, 3Com Corporation, is setting up a technology centre in Bangalore.
The company plans to recruit about 100 engineers and invest between Rs 60-100 crore over the next three years in the centre, which is expected to be operational by mid-February next year. The centre will be CommWorks technology hub for the Asia-Pacific region and develop software products in the telecommunications and Internet infrastructure areas for worldwide deployment. It will also provide customer escalation services to CommWorks customers throughout Asia.
The centre at Bangalore is expected to offer CommWorks a close proximity to customers and partners across the Asia-Pacific Rim. It is also expected to enhance the ability of CommWorks professional services team to collaborate with customers throughout the region. CommWorks has tied up with Mascon Global to set up the centre. Mascon would set up the infrastructure and manage the centre while CommWorks would be deploying the equipment, sources at Mascon said. Initially, CommWorks will be utilising the Mascon workforce.
