Lufthansa to lift fuel surcharge

NEW DELHI, Dec. 7

WITH fuel prices declining in recent weeks, Lufthansa Cargo is withdrawing the fuel surcharge from December 20 this year. In a statement the Lufthansa Cargo has said that the surcharge was being levied on shipments since February 1, last year.

The statement adds that the surcharge is to be suspended on the entire route network. The statement points out that Lufthansa Cargo is to reappraise the fuel surcharge process in the coming weeks on the basis of the experience it has gained in the past so that future fuel price developments are reflected timelier in the fuel surcharge.
