Why I like... Michael Madana Kamarajan

Mahathi, singer

I love Nayakan, Michael Madana Kamarajan, Saamy, Thillana Mohanambaal, Pitamagan and Mozhi... It is difficult to choose just one. But, I’ll go with Michael Madana Kamarajan. I have always loved the ‘Crazy’ Mohan and Kamal Hassan combination. Especially in Michael Madana Kamarajan where Kamal brings out so much from every character, playing it so differently from the other. I am a die hard Kamal and Vikram fan. The way Kamal speaks the Kerala Bashai as the Kameswaran character is just too good. And if you look at the dialogues, the comedy is worked into the lines. If you pay attention, you can see the wit and humour in almost every single line. Ilaiyaraja’s music in this film is so good. In fact, ‘Sundari Neeyum’ is my favourite song. I have seen the film more than 22 times. Everybody has done extremely well, including the heroines... Urvashi, needless to say, is too good. This is one movie where you will not feel something is missing somewhere. It is perfect.
