Century not out

Directed by Gerald, the soap “Madura” on Vijay TV, Monday-Thursday, 8.30 p.m., reaches a milestone. Its 100th episode will be aired on February 4.

A story about five siblings, the serial portrays a long-drawn feud in a family in Madurai and the changes that take place when a love story blooms in the family.

The central characters are Meenakshi (Srija) and Saravanan (Senthil).

Meenakshi is desperate to re-unite the family, while Saravanan is ready to sacrifice everything for Meenakshi’s sake.

Years roll by and Saravanan, on his death bed, still waits to win Meenakshi’s love. Will he succeed? Will the family members re-unite?

Makkal TV goes mobile

Here’s some good news for the viewers of Makkal TV. The channel, through a tie-up with the Hyderabad-based Apalya Technologies, has extended its service to BSNL subscribers with GPRS phones by enabling them to watch its programmes on their mobile phones.

To avail themselves of this service, which is available at Rs. 50 per month, all they have to do is type MYTV and SMS it to 55447.

This further allows the subscriber to download their favourite programmes and view them as and when they like.

The channel has planned to extend the service soon to the subscribers of Aircel and Vodaphone.

Nayakar

With the objective of motivating the younger generation to be socially inclined, Makkal TV will launch a new programme featuring those who make a difference in their day-to-day lives.

The Sunday breakfast show at 8.30 a.m. brings a lively tête-À-tête with personalities who are great achievers and deserve to be noted.

The programme traces the lives of these achievers, their ideologies and inspirations. The episodes are spiced up with bytes from those who were behind the achievements.
