Riya in a huff
Riya Sen has been in the news for all the speculation surrounding her acquaintance with the controversial novelist Salman Rushdie. But she doesn’t like being reminded about the topic at all. The media was called to cover the shooting of her nex
t film Taara Sitaara, and she was her normal sunny self. But the moment somebody asked her about the author, Ria saw red. In a huff, she stuck up her nose and walked away from the spot. The director Karan Chowdhary tried his best to placate her and continue with the interviews but Ria remained cross.
Sequel to Bhoothnath?
The promos of Amitabh Bachchan’s next major film, Bhoothnath, are all over the place. Although this kiddie-cum-ghost film is yet to be released, producers BR Chopra and Ravi Chopra are already planning a sequel. It is learnt
that it was Bhoothnath’s lyricist Javed Akhtar who ignited the idea of Bhoothnath’s sequel.
Director Vivek Sharma confirms, “Yes, there are plans to make a sequel to Bhoothnath and it was actually Javed saab who mooted the idea of making a sequel. His enthusiasm for Bhoothnath was so much that from the first day he had been telling me, ‘You will make a sequel of this film, so don’t end it on a sad note; have a positive ending and write ‘To be continued’ at the end of the film. So I have given a hint in the climax that we might come up with a sequel.”
Sophie’s take on Imran
Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan is all set to make his acting debut — either in Sanjay Gadhvi’s Kidnap or Abbas Tyrewala’s Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. But already, Imran is attracting positive bu
zz from many in the industry. Those who have had a sneak peek at Imran’s work seem to be enthusiastically singing the newcomer’s praise. Among them is Sophie Choudry, who is working with the young actor in Sanjay Gadhvi’s Kidnap. Sophie sighs: “I don’t have to shoot a scene with him in the film but he was on the set while I was shooting for my portions of the film. He looks better than even Ranbir Kapoor.”
Happy and sad
Model-turned-actor Sheetal Menon’s debut film Brahm failed to make a splash but it has left the actor with a bittersweet feeling. Sheetal says, “Not many have seen the film but whoever has seen it has liked my performan
ce. I have been getting a lot of congratulatory messages from my family and friends and I have saved all of them.”
However, the actor is upset about the film being quickly removed from some theatres. Sheetal says, “There has been some conflict going on between the director and the producer of the film. That’s why the producers have withdrawn the film from some theatres.” She sighs, “If I had known this was going to happen, I would have thought before signing the film.”
