Love / Hate

Why I like... Anbe Sivam

Prasanna, Swinger's Dance Company.

There is one simple reason why I liked the movie. It conveys that God is nothing but Love.

Even though the basic storyline is clichéd, with a poor hero, beautiful rich heroine and her villainous father, the conceptualisation was new.

It depicted spiritualism, death, suffering and all the serious issues in life through subtle humour, and in an entertaining manner.

Also, the positive attitude that Kamal Hassan maintained throughout his sufferings is much needed in today’s world. The street drama song sequence that used dancing, singing, acting, props etc. was especially realistic.

The climax, where Madhavan got to marry the heroine, was a perfect conclusion to a simple yet powerful screenplay.
