Grill Mill -- Namita
Why aren’t you seen more often on the screen these days?
That’s because I am doing more of heroine roles and working round the clock. Two films which will hit the theatres soon — Indira Vizha and Jaganmohini — will certainly make the audience happy. Both will showcase my acting talent.
What is special about Indira Vizha?
I play an unusual role in the film. The producers and directors have started promoting the film through SMS. This way I can reach the masses quickly. I have asked them in my colloquial Tamil to watch the film. This has been sent to nearly two lakh people and director Rajasekar has said the publicity campaign would continue even after the film’s release. The shooting at Lankawi was a unique experience. We shot at a place 2000 feet above sea level; it felt like heaven and as if we were walking on the clouds.
The earlier Jagan Mohini featuring another actor was a hit?
I am happy to do it. It is not the same film, several changes have been made in the script. There are many more interesting aspects — comedy, special effects, glamour and sentiment — which will ensure a repeat audience.
Despite so many films to your credit, why do awards elude you?
My priority is to make the audience happy and I want them to see me in cute roles. When the time comes, I will certainly go in for challenging roles.
