Stu Shepard (Colin Farrell) is an arrogant New York City publicist who juggles a busy career with a wife, Kelly (Radha Mitchell) and a mistress, Pamela (Katie Holmes). He picks up a ringing phone on a busy street, and a stranger on the other end (Kiefer Sutherland) informs him that if he hangs up, he will be shot. When another man tries to make his way into the booth, he’s shot inches from Stu, calling the attention of the police. As Stu struggles to find a way to convince the police of what’s happening without leaving the booth, the caller forces Stu to face his infidelities and his unethical, self-serving existence.

Love and Other Disasters

(STAR Movies, Monday, 9 p.m.)

Emily Jackson (Brittany Murphy) has a fast-paced life, working at Vogue magazine. She loves playing matchmaker for her friends, especially her gay roommate and companion Peter (Matthew Rhys), who she hopes to pair up with Paolo (Santiago Cabrera), a handsome photographer’s assistant. But while she is busy arranging their love lives, she remains blind to the one suitor who longs to provide her with the loving companionship that she arranges for others.

The Simpsons Movie

(STAR Movies, Wednesday, 9 p.m.)

In this film based on the long-running TV series, Homer must save the world from a catastrophe he caused. When Homer accidentally pollutes Springfield’s lake, the government decides to enclose the entire town in a giant glass dome. While Marge is outraged by Homer’s monumental blunder, a vengeful mob of locals target the Simpson household. After narrowly escaping, the family flees to Alaska. But when the President decides to wipe out Springfield in a nuclear blast, Homer embarks on a journey of redemption.
