Abhay Deol was in Italy recently to attend the screening of Dev D at the Venice Film Festival. The audience gave him a standing ovation. As a bonus, he was invited to the Jager De Coulter party where only the crème de la crème are invited. To boost his ego further, the Italian edition of Vanity Fair featured Abhay Deol.
Back home, Abhay is all geared up to shoot with Sonam Kapoor in Anil Kapoor’s production Aisha.
Harman, Ashutosh’s fan
For Harman Baweja, What’s Your Rashee was a big break. No wonder he can’t stop singing director Ashutosh Gowarikar’s praises. Says Harman: “When you work with Ashutosh, you come prepared to give your best.
He manages to get the best out of every actor he works with — be it the lead or a character actor. It is also nerve-racking because you are working with someone who is as senior and as talented as him. But he is comfortable to interact with.”
Pritam is busy
The next time we meet music composer Pritam, we are going to sing the C H Atma oldie goldie, ‘Pritam aan milo, pritam aan milo.’
Neck deep in work, Pritam has been busy running from one recording studio to another for the music of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahan and Action Replay and refuses to take phone calls. When we finally came face to face with him, Pritam said, “I have not been picking up calls for a long time now. Bhushan Kumar, owner of T-series, was furious with me when I didn’t take his call. He met Shah Rukh the very next day and asked him to make a call to me on his behalf. Shah Rukh told him that I don’t pick up his calls either. When I met Bhushanji a few days later, he chided me, ‘You have become a big shot. Leave alone me; you don’t even take Shah Rukh’s call.”
Wonder, why Pritam bothers to carry a mobile.
Ayesha turns businesswoman
After Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta, actor Ayesha Takia tries her hand at being a businesswoman. The Wanted actress, who is married to restaurateur Farhan Azmi, is working on her own clothing line.
Ayesha says, “I have always loved fashion. I am participating in Farhan’s other projects too. We have a new line of restaurants called Chai Coffee in the pipeline. We will be opening many new Basilicos too. A new Koyla restaurant is opening up in Lokhandwala. We are doing a boutique hotel in Goa.” Takia may not have been a busy actor but as a businesswoman her diary is really filling up fast.
