My First Break -- SUJA
How it happened
When I was in Standard IX, I got an offer to act in a film cranked by popular cameraman Rajarajan, who was my neighbour. With hesitation, I agreed to act in Plus Two. I did not get good offers after that. One day, out of the blue, I got a call from Malayalam director Logidas to act as the second heroine in his Tamil film, Kasturi Mann. After that film, I was asked to do a dance number in Varnajalam featuring Srikanth in the lead. As I danced well, I started getting offers on the same line.
How it felt
I saw Plus Two in Udayam on the first day of its release. The crowd recognised me and I became the cynosure of all eyes.
How life changed
Life has not changed much, but for people occasionally recognising me when I go out. So far I have danced in nearly a dozen films including Mayavi, Pazhani, Singakkutti, Jayem Kondan, Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondram Aandu, Vathiyar, Moscowin Kaveri, Indiralogathil Na. Azhagappan and Ayndhampadai.
I am working towards getting powerful roles where I can prove my acting skills. I'm working on Milagai, directed by Ravi Mariya with cameraman Natraj as the hero.
