Hard work pays

Indian films, particularly South Indian movies, are getting invited to various international film festivals. The latest in this list is Aval Peyar Tamilarasi, which is headed for the Dubai International Film Festival. Director Meera Kathiravan is all excited, for this is his debut film, after a great internship with Balu Mahendra, Thankarbachan and Lohitadas. “I am thrilled. All the hard work I have put into this film is coming to fruition,” he says. Aval...has Jai paired with a new face from Andhra, Nandagi. Says the director: “She fits the role of a typical Tamil girl-next-door.”
