MBA programme

The Ohio-Manipal School of Business (OSMB) has announced admissions for 2004-2006 for its 18-month residential MBA programme. The programme is spread across six academic quarters offering the students the option of undergoing the final quarter of the course at Athens, the Ohio University campus in the U.S.

The brochures and application forms may be procured by sending a demand draft for Rs. 900 to "Manipal Education Network" at Bangalore. The last date for submitting applications is November 30 to the Admissions Co-ordinator, Prof. Sridhara Murthy (Ph: 080-28560186), along with copies of academic credentials. Students can also contact the School through the Admissions Hotline: 9845887353. Applicants will be individually informed of the entrance test dates. Shortlisted students will have to undergo a group discussion, personal interview and an English proficiency test in Bangalore.

Students having a degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate can apply.

The OMSB accepts GMAT/CAT/XAT/MAT or ATMA scores. Students who have not taken any of these tests will be required to take the OMSB Test that will be administered at the School on the day of the personal interview.

The students are provided a platform of virtual learning through electronic interaction with their counterparts in the U.S.

Recruitment drive

Fisher College of Business, which is ranked 19th by the U.S. News and World Report, and 25th by the Economist is on a student recruitment drive in India. Eric Chambers, the Associate Director of Graduate Programmes, is visiting Bangalore on November 22 and staying at Hotel Grand Ashok.

Fisher's small programme size allows for greater flexibility in the curriculum.

The full time MBA batch of 2005 has average work experience of 4.6 years and has 22 per cent international students. The college has one of the few fully integrated chalk-free campuses in the U.S. It has established innovative corporate mentoring programmes to help minority and international students.

Interested students can take a virtual tour of the campus by logging on to www.osu.edu/visitors/virtual_tour.html. For the information seminar, register on fishermba2005@yahoo.co.in.
