What is the meaning of the expression "milk and water"?

(V. Mohan, Warangal)

The expression is mostly used in informal contexts in British English. When you refer to someone's speech as being "milk and water", you mean it was very feeble or sentimental.

*I expected something great. The speech was nothing but milk and water.

S. UPENDRAN
