I want to break free

By G. Aditya Reddy

Do not think what others think about you. Just do what your heart says.

SRI CHAITANYA JUNIOR COLLEGE, NOV. 14. This playground is beautiful. Ah, the swings, there they go up and down...free as a bird. Oh, how much I long to sit on the swing and swing till my heart says that's enough...Oh no, I can't do that.

After all, I'm grown up and what would people think seeing me undulate on the swing like a kid. And all those girls... nope I'm not going to do that. Never.

This dilemma rings in my head every time I see a playground. "Please let me be myself," the mind yearns. But, Mr. Inhibition restricts me all the time. And he is there all the time. I guess he is there in everyone restricting people from being free bird and seldom allowing them to be their original selves.

So much so, I feel a mentally retarded person enjoys more freedom than the so-called civilized people of free India. Mr. Inhibition would not let you walk your way. He won't let you eat the way you like to.

Say boo to inhibition

He restricts you so much that you become his prisoner. Break the taboo, fight, talk it out with him and beat him in his own ground and see for yourself how you become light as a feather. We just live once and we need to relish those few moments.

I have experienced what is called as freedom by breaking away from the clutches of Mr. Inhibition.

The next time when you are at Prasads or in a park, do not think what others think about you. Just do what your heart says!
