Will the inquiry take place?

The campus watchers are not sure that the inquiry into the allegations against Prof. Simhadri, will take place. It is already December and Prof. Simhadri completes his term in April. It is believed that the Government has not given the terms of reference to a retired Judge of the High Court (who is to conduct the inquiry) and every one is aware that no inquiry officer can even start an inquiry without being given the terms of reference.

The Government has also not decided whether to conduct the inquiry under one particular Section of the Prevention of Corruption Act, which makes its mandatory for the Government to implement the findings of the inquiry committee. Meanwhile Prof. Simhadri continued with his frequent trips to Hyderabad.
